Because prosecutors are unable to determine when the victim died, they dropped charges yesterday against a Mira Mesa man accused of a felony hit-and-run for driving over a man on a La Jolla street.
Omega Temesgen, 24, had been charged in the mysterious death of Robert Jefferson Nelson, whose body was found on North Torrey Pines Road on April 21, 2005. It is unclear why Nelson, 32, who worked as a data processor for a La Jolla law firm, was in the road.
